Nice, that’s a hearty set up. Thanks for the intel! Looks great.

Whoa, my basement looks identical to this and I was daydreaming about doing something similar. Had no idea how I’d mount it into the foundation wall, mind sharing what you did??

Thanks! Look forward to checking those out now that I get the appeal. I think the extremity of the NTS sessions has helped me appreciate what they’re really up to, compared to some of their earlier Warp contemporaries.

I've tried Amber, Tri Repetae, assorted best-of playlists in the past. Nothing's connected until now!

Finally breaking into Autechre with the NTS sessions.

Will have to re-read, I nearly forgot about Asterion. Library of Babel really sticks with me, what a perfectly surreal concept. There’s nothing like Borges!

Favourite story from Labyrinths? Such a cool cover on that edition.

There’s also a lot of baggage leftover from City-skeptical lefty movements (60s environmentalists, Industrial Revolution socialists). So these otherwise progressive types become very conservative when it comes to city building.

I’ve seen a real unwillingness to learn how cities work from a few friends on the left. I think because a lot of the fundamentals aren’t intuitive and don’t fit with preconceived lefty values.

And optimistic…?

Great article, hope it spurs change! Frustrating that this chestnut about road widening is still getting past fact checkers in 2025.

Thanks for this video! I found it surprisingly hard to find helpful critiques of Jane Jacobs after reading her. Lots of pearl-clutching from different political sides without much explanation. This is clear and critical analysis that a writer like Jane Jacobs deserves, nice work.

Just saw this back-to-back in my timeline with a post complaining about the new Stereolab video being AI. Bummer!

Bummer. Just saw an identical post under yours in my timeline complaining that the new Pulp video is AI!

All things that helped me out of a music funk lately. Hoe you don’t mind unsolicited recommendations!

Great new compilation of ambient Japanese electronic called Virtual Dreams vol. 2

Total Blue is an LA jazz group that put out a really vibey/electronic/fusion-y record last year (don’t knock it til you try it!)

Shabaka put out an excellent spiritual jazz album last year. Lots of interesting sounds
