Nevada's federal leaders, including Rep. Amodei (NV-2),
@cortezmasto.senate.gov & @senjackyrosen.govpeeps.us will help decide the future of electric transportation in the US. Will we maximize our potential to save money & create jobs? Or will we discard important tools and waste more money on gas?

We're also watching the U.S. Senate, which could be taking up a CRA resolution that would disable the state Advanced Clean Cars and Clean Trucks programs, which have helped increase the availability of new, cleaner, more efficient technologies.

There's some big votes coming up in Congress that will affect access to EVs, how fast we're deploying them, and their overall savings potential. That includes the budget bill, the House draft of which proposes to repeal both individual and commercial EV tax credits.

The main reason: Nevada tends to have high gasoline prices, but also has great access to cheap electricity. That's a bigger factor than the lack of state EV incentives.

And we're looking forward to a lot more fruitful collaboration with leaders in New Mexico and across the Southwest. Onward we go!

We're taking a moment to celebrate this accomplishment now, knowing full well that there's a lot more work to do to realize the potential for new technologies to save us money, clean our air and protect our climate.

Electric vehicles are especially effective at saving money. Curious about how much drivers in the Southwest (where I work) could save on fuel? Check out my calculator, here: www.swenergy.org/electric-veh...

Let's keep going toward a decarbonized transportation system that includes convenient, affordable places to live; lots of options for how to get around, including walking, biking and transit; and quiet, efficient, cost-saving vehicles that run on clean energy.

It's wonderful to have state leaders that understand that we need to use every tool in our toolbox: We need alternatives to driving, and we also need to electrify everything that moves - both, simultaneously, with as much vigor as we can muster.
