For a few hours, a service outage at AWS triggered malfunctions across the internet.

But it perhaps was felt most by those sleeping on these smart beds that rudely awoke them with upright inclines, unbearable warmth, flashing lights or alarms.
Smart beds flipped out during the AWS outage, and so did their sleepy owners
Some Eight Sleep mattress users had a rude awakening after the Amazon Web Services outage, with reports of beds stuck upright and haywire temperatures.

Apparently, Maryland instituted a new rule this year that requires schools to use all "in-person" makeup days (including adding on a week at the end of school) before they are allowed to do virtual instruction. Very inconvenient when one is trying to plan a summer trip and has limited availability.

Hey @montgomerycountymd.bsky.social why did the plow tracker for Bethesda reset? Last night it showed like 70% of neighborhood was done and estimated completion at 2:30 am today. This morning it has gone down to 17% complete… Aside from the tracker, it seems to be taking a lot longer to plow this yr

God, I hate the snow. I think I’m the only person in my house who is dismayed by the increasing snow cast for Monday… and I’m the only one who will be shoveling twenty stairs and a sidewalk. I wonder if there is any correlation? 🤜🏻☃️
