HISTORY TIDBIT: There used to be a bounty on mountain lions here in Vermont, as they were deemed “noxious animals”. This poster (that I created for my project) displays the $20 bounty from 1895. It might not seem like a lot, but that’s over $650 in today’s money!

I had a great research trip to Squam Lakes Natural Science Center today to see the mountain lions! I studied them closely so I could start to understand their movements and behavior for my animation project.

2024 was a BIG year for me professionally. “Love of the Land” was in 20+ film festivals, won 11 awards, screened locally in 7 VT towns, aired on Vermont Public, and has over 3.7k views on YouTube! And, I’ve started working on my next project, “A Mountain Lion’s Journey”. Let’s see what 2025 brings…

After workshopping the title of my mountain lion animation, I've decided to change it to "A Mountain Lion's Journey". I believe this new title better reflects the purpose of the animation in a clearer and more concise way.

For my next animated short I’ll be “aging” and “distressing” the Travis Animates logo to fit the subject matter and time period. This project will be based on another Vermont historical story.
