The reason is that any time America wants to build something, dozens of corporations need to be involved and they all have to not only be paid to build it, they need to make a profit, their executives need a bonus, and the shareholders need a buyback program. This is the inefficiency of capitalism.

Also the wars in Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, and Afghanistan were clearly neocolonial. We didn't intend to take territory, just extract resources, protect existing resource extraction, ensure capitalism is the dominant global force, and prioritize the needs of multinational corporations.

You're drawing a line that purposely excludes the kind of illegal activity that the US engages in, neocolonialism. The US has been part of some 80 coups/attempted coups. Since 2000 we targeted: Haiti, Venezuela, Honduras, Paraguay, Bolivia, Egypt, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and even Ukraine in 2014.

Israel has been doing it for years with the US providing international cover and Russia took Crimea back in 2014 so I'm not sure we live in the world you described. Powerful nations just get to do this kind of thing.

Did America appease the Vietnamese communists when we abandoned our war. How about the Taliban in Afghanistan, did we appease them? It's called losing a war. They need to stop sacrificing a generation of Ukranian men to a war they literally cannot win.

You know the reason this war wasn't settled years ago is that weapons manufacturers make more money the longer this goes on, right? Countless deaths could have been avoided, but people like you keep getting tricked into supporting endless conflict.

Russia has taken 20% of Ukraine despite the west dumping hundreds of billions of dollars in weapons and now we are at a stalemate. The war has been lost. Face reality.

I understand that people want justice for Ukraine and for Russia to be defeated, but Russia has outlasted the west. Our countries are not going to pay for the war to go on forever just to be a stalemate that continues slaughtering Ukrainian soldiers.

Of course they will keep fighting, but they will lose more territory as their army dwindles. I don't know why people want the war to continue. 1.7 million Ukrainians have died and they gain nothing by continuing.
