While I watched a crime #movie, a #wallpainting in a scene made me curious. I remembered I had already seen it in a #villa in #Weimar whose #stairwell looked like a #fairytale book. What about you? Have you already been to a site of a #crime movie? > travelwriticus.com/villa-haar-w... #Germany

When I saw the ruin of the Tempelherrenhaus in #Weimar, I thought about the Templars who may have hidden their hoard here. But I was wrong. The 18th-century building hosted a ducal salon once. Later, it formed an atelier for the #Bauhaus master Johannes Itten > www.travelwriticus.com/tempelherren...

A #museum with a view! There is probably no better place to accommodate the regional #wine museum than Neuenburg #Castle. Its walls rise high over the #vineyards of Saale-Unstrut. I took this photo while enjoying a boat trip on the Unstrut River > www.travelwriticus.com/freyburg-uns... #Germany

Riding paddle steamers is an excellent way to slow down. Therefore, I'm always looking for such boats on my journeys. Some years ago, I took the chance to cross the Austrian Traun Lake (Traunsee) with the steamer "Gisela" dating back to 1872 > www.travelwriticus.com/gmunden-padd... #Austria #Gmunden

The #manhole covers in #Munich display the Münchner Kindl. In Bavarian dialect, Münchner Kindl means Munich Child. But the original meaning of the figure was to portray a #monk. Well, the guy reminds me more of a monk than a child. What do you think? > www.travelwriticus.com/manhole-cove... #Bavaria

The #Museum of #Military #History (Heeresgeschichtliches Museum), located in the Arsenal of #Vienna, is an architectural gem. So, you will find #architecture in the style of #Byzantine and #Neo-Gothic. Some details make me think of being in #Venice > travelwriticus.com/museum-milit... #Austria

In general, town walls try to frighten the enemy with their sheer invincibility. Well, this does not seem to be the case in this photo.
