I took this photo this week at the Capitol Reef NP. The flag was attached to a tree post as it waved brightly among ominous dark clouds. More than ever, I am concentrating on the last 5 words of the pledge of allegiance that I hope everyone takes to heart today: “With liberty and justice for ALL.”

Trump campaigned on lowering the cost of #groceries. I don’t shop in bulk at home, but recently when I visited my kids in Austin, I got sticker shock. $41 - 8 small pieces of salmon. $9 -16 ounces of ground beef. Ground turkey was not too bad at $7 for 16 ounces. In total, 6 packages for over $70.

Many of us supported #veterans and #democracy at today’s peaceful demonstration in Loveland near #Tesla.

#Trump feigns confusion about why we went to the #handsoff march yesterday. In general, we want our country to respect the #constitution & treat people better. We went for the #America we want to live in, a place free of hate, division, & anger that is now commonplace.

From the top organizers down to each attendee at our #handsoff march, everyone was supportive & kind. There were small children, multi generations of families, dogs, strollers, & elderly people who could barely walk taking tiny steps as they marched with us. We chanted & sang. It was beautiful.

Fort Collins, Colorado showed up today. More than 4,000 people demanding a better government! #Handsoff

Today I went to a cardboard #LaurenBoebert event in Wellington, Colorado. We asked her likeness questions she should answer at a real in-person town hall, but she is refusing to meet face to face. The cardboard did not have good answers. But an in-person Boebert probably would not do much better.

In Berlin, I saw statues & plaques documenting the holocaust. Today, #Trump & #Musk are doing the opposite by destroying evidence that people other than white Anglo men were critical to USA’s progress. It appears their end goal is to include only white Anglo men in decision-making & gov’t services.

In 2016, when #Trump 1st became nominee, I left the #Republican party. As a TX judge, I was connected with Rep. judges & activists. Literally, some walked around with a tiny Constitution in their pockets. Today, they act like suicide bombers blowing up the law & themselves to make libtards pay.

Today, I joined 250 people peacefully demonstrating in Loveland, CO near the Tesla dealership. Say no to swastikars.

Re next week’s #inaugeration: I have a personal strategy to avoid the drama I remember from when he was 45th.
1. I won’t watch the inauguration.
2. I will avoid most social media/TV news & instead read articles.
3. I have a well-stocked pantry and will be more frugal.

Today, in Austin, Texas, I gave an interview for a documentary about the #deathpenalty that will air in the UK. I explained why I was someone who supported #capitalpunishment until I realized that it is too unreliable to be a just sentence.

When I first ran for judge in 1999, political experts cautioned me not to take a photo holding a glass of wine because conservative voters would not like that. Today, the president-elect is a 34-time felon. As a former elected official, that is incomprehensible to me.
