And all they’re proving is that Republican members of Congress can’t discern unlawful behavior.

Please tell me that the next comment from the interviewer was to point out that they did not swear an oath to the commander-in-chief

I very much understand that you’re vested after five years. But I certainly don’t fault her for sticking around another 40 days to get over the line. Any reasonable person would do that. I don’t fault her for that more than I would fault any other fed making the same choice.

Exactly. It’s not a full salary for life as people like to claim.

And after the blowout last week, they are worried about giving up some of these margins.

They were discussing this on a podcast and mentioned one of the Democrats is in an Indianapolis district that’s 2:1 Democratic. To split enough of these voters off into neighboring districts, they would have to risk safe Republican districts.

Hold down the volume up button and the power button. It will pull up the screen that lets you power down your phone or make an emergency call. When you hit cancel, Face ID is disabled and you’ll need your passcode.

Most of Europe, to start.

Have you not noticed that they have private enterprise there and it’s not all owned by the state?

I’ll take my diversity with regulated capitalism. I don’t think you know what you’re asking for when you think we should be getting rid of capitalism entirely.

There’s never been a time when I was worried about the government or law-enforcement, seizing my phone

This may be the result of privilege, but I am a middle-aged, white female rule follower

Note that it’s HOUSE Democrats calling for him to be replaced- Democrats that have no say in naming the SENATE Minority leader.

I think Schummer stays exactly where he is.

The iPhone setting now allows 10 tries.

I’m guessing it has to deal with the computing power required to break the password. A four digit numeric code is probably within reach.

Just a guess, though
November 13, 2025 at 11:58 PM
iPhones have it as well. Learning how to lock my phone in a way that disables Face ID is something I never thought I’d have to think about- the joys of living in the Trump era.

Over on Reddit, the TSA sub isn’t buying it 🤷‍♀️

The funniest thing I saw was our alert system sending out a “shutdown is over!” at 3:30 PM today.

It seemed like all the furloughed workers were already back and saw it in their work email. A bit late, guys!
November 13, 2025 at 11:45 PM
So basically, you’re telling elected Democrats to not bother to fight unless they can guarantee a win.

Which means they won’t fight next time. 🤷‍♀️

25% of independents is a brutal number.

Let’s keep it that way !

Well, his profile says he’s not afraid to be called a racist. Probably not worth engaging with.
November 11, 2025 at 4:29 PM
Who decides how long as possible? Federal employees, contractors, and businesses in their community were all seriously hurting already. This was the longest shutdown in history.
November 11, 2025 at 6:09 AM
You lack imagination.

Off the top of my head:

A national abortion ban
A national ban on gay marriage
A national ban on mail voting
A national voter ID law
Privatize Social Security

I know they get worse, but I can’t think of them at the moment.
November 11, 2025 at 6:05 AM
I think you’re half right. They’re not naïve and no one in either party believed the GOP would cave on healthcare.

But not having the power to change, the outcome is different from not caring.
November 11, 2025 at 5:51 AM
That election didn’t get Democrats any more seats in Congress. In case you haven’t noticed, House Republicans will always side with Trump over their own voters, so public opinion shifting against them, doesn’t matter much. Democrats need to control Congress to pass their priorities.
November 11, 2025 at 5:49 AM
I don’t think there’s a chance of the filibuster going down.

And it would be a disaster if it did, because all the MAGA crazy would pass the Senate.

Dems did not have the power to stop this and unfortunately a lot of people don’t want to hear that
November 11, 2025 at 5:45 AM
Who would replace him?
