2.) Roglič already rode his first GT literally 4-5 years after he's bought his FIRST bike. I don't remember many other riders who did a GT so early.

This means that he was either out of gc due to crash or ilness either before or during the race or that he wasn't targetting GC which reduces the risk of crashes
