Current obsession: Path of Exile 2
Oh, and the Inspiration from Beyond should probably just be a 4th Overlord, I just don't happen to have a 4th copy on Arena atm
But grabbing back a sweeper or Abuelo's in the lategame vs grindy decks seems fine? Probably rather beat them to death with an Overlord though

Lockdown seems real iffy against the Pixie decks, but might be necessary vs Red decks. The fact you can get it back with Abuelo's might not matter but it's a nice detail

I want to play it in an Overlord deck, because I just think that deck has far more mana when reaching endgame than Beans does, which compliments the Talent loops. It isn't as dependant on filling your graveyard either and leaving you soft to GY hate.

4. Chief of the Edge!

My first Standard deck was a Mono Red Heroic deck in Born of the Gods, but when Khans of Tarkir came out I was excited to try something new, and inexpensive. Warriors was the answer. It wasn't a great deck, but it sparked my love for Typal decks from then on.

For reference, this is the deck I'm tinkering with if anyone wants to look. Only playing BO1 at the moment, haven't worked out a sideboard plan yet other than 2 copies of Arcanis and 4 Flashfreeze

It's not ideal when you know you've won the game but have to concede anyway due to the limitations of the client. I want to play the Lumra Landfall deck in Explorer too, and spent the wildcards on it a few months back, only to have to stop playing it for the same reason. Not enough time.

3. Stormtide Leviathan!

This (along with Gilded Lotus) were the first rares I pulled from booster packs, and I remember walking home from my LGS with this in my pocket and it getting completely destroyed! Luckily I got another one pretty quickly and it soon became a longtime favorite casual card.

2. Fire Servant!

When I started playing Magic, this was the ultimate kitchen table card that I slammed onto the table daily against my school friends. This with a Lava Axe felt unbeatable when I didn't know any better 🤣

1. Merfolk Trickster!

This was the card that made Merfolk click in my mind as one of the most enjoyable decks I ever played, and I stuck with it for years. For me, Trickster is a perfectly designed Magic card.
