Day 27 - Free Space

‘Blood Feast’ (1963)

Had 2 personal #Junesploitaion rules this year.

1. No skipping days

2. No rewatches

Skipped few days so fuck it.

Not seen this in about 30 years..

A milestone in horror & exploitation cinema.

Day 22 - Teenagers

‘Teen Wolf Too’ (1987)

Started off terrible.
Stayed terrible.
Fell asleep, woke up for the last 20 mins- still terrible

Day 21 - Westerns

‘Cut-Throats Nine’ (1972)

Never been a big western fan, but hell this was a damn good film.

Nasty, bloody, duplicitous trek across the snowy wilds. Obvious that the ‘Hateful Eight’ took inspiration in the last reel.

Day 20 - Autuers

‘Bloodthirsty Butchers’ (1979)

Have an unread book on Andy Milligan and this is my 1st foray into his output…

…and oh my god it was shit-awful.

Every scene is bad actors talking for ages. This was a slog.

However, there is a boob in a pie.

Day 19 - Free Choice

‘Fear Eats The Soul’ (1974)

Both a first watch and my first Fassbinder film.

Beautifully shot story of isolation, love, age and prejudice.

Day 17 - Lucio Fulci

‘Warriors Of The Year 2072’ (1984)

How many titles does this have?

20 mins I’d realised I’d seen it on VHS as a kid (as ‘Rome 2033: Fighter Centurions’)

Future dystopia meets televised death & violence all wrapped up in a trashy Italian package. Loved it.

Day 16 - 80’s Comedy

‘Screwballs II : Loose Screws’ (1985)

Pretty much standard 80’s teen sex comedy tropes, with more than it’s fair share of nude ladies and of course horn-dog male students just trying to get laid (who come across as a bunch of degenerate perverts)

Day 15 - Revenge

‘Revenge of the Ninja’ (1983)

Sho Kosugi gets inadvertently mixed up in the heroin trade, so he has to bone-crunch ninjas, hippies, the Village People and mafia goons with sticks, knives, feet and shurikens on a regular basis. Mindless ninja fun.

Day 14 - Free Space

‘The Master of Disguise’ (2002)

The only redeeming thing about having to sit through this pile of celluloid cack was the running joke of the baddie tooting every time he laughed.

Day 13 - Friday the 13th

‘Part VI: Jason Lives’ (1986)

Confession- liked the 1st one but never really bothered with the rest/ whole franchise horror thing. Same with Freddie, Halloween etc.

This one is borderline parody, kinda stupid self-aware but predictable hokey fun

Day 12 - Cartoons

‘Foodfight!’ (2012)

Heard this was awful so naturally my morbid curiosity led me to watch.

Bad PS2 cut scenes you can’t skip, with unenthusiastic voice acting.

Something to do with brand icons vs nazis in a supermarket.

What a cinematic abomination.

Day 11 - 90’s Action

‘China O’Brien 2’ (1990)

More Cynthia Rothrock wearing denim and kicking arse

Went off the rails towards the end, with the cleaver chefs, Freddie Kruger hands man, Indiana Jones and Billy Blanks all just rocking up for a rumble.

Day 10 - Jess Franco

‘A Virgin Among The Living Dead’ (1973)

Surreal, atmospheric and weirdly haunting, full of nudity, and many needless zoom shots. Really loved the whole look of this, one of the better efforts from Uncle Jess.

Day 9 - Free Choice

‘Shin Ultraman’ (2022)

Ultraman doing his thing fighting many kaiju monsters. Lacks the goofy charm of the old tv show, but still an enjoyable watch

Day 8 - Heist

‘Dead Heat on a Merry-Go-Round’ (1966)

Ideally I’d watch ‘…Pelham 123’ as it is the greatest heist film ever made, no argument.

But it’s 1st watches only so it’s con man James Coburn in this fairly drab, unexciting bank robbery caper

Day 7 - Kung Fu

‘Yes, Madam!’ (1985)

80’s cops and kung-fu with Michele Yeoh & Cynthia Rothrock taking care of business

Day 6 - Giallo

‘Nothing Underneath’ (1985)

Twin goes to Milan after he has emphatic visions of his model sister being killed.

Semi-naked models, dress scissor murders, wonky acting and Donald Pleasance make for an entertaining watch

Day 5 - Magic

‘The Alchemist’ (1983)

Was going to watch the Anthony Hopkins ventriloquist based thriller ‘Magic’ but against my better judgement I went with this Robert Ginty / Charles Band effort, hoping they may turn shit into pure gold.
Sadly, all I got was a turd.

Day 4 - Blaxploitation

“Petey Wheatstraw - The Devil’s Son in Law’ (1977)

The great Rudy Ray Moore enters a Faustian pact with the Devil in exchange for getting revenge on some rat soup eating motherfuckers. I ain’t lyin’!

Day 3 - David Carradine

‘Future Force’ (1989)

Been sat on my #tubi watchlist gathering dust so now I have an excuse to watch it.

Mildly entertaining trash. Carradine phones it in, and it needed way more flying power glove action.

Day 2 - Zombies!

‘The Night Eats The World’ (2018)

Could have gone with an Italian gut-munching classic, but going for first watches only.

Not what I expected - plays more on the coping with the isolation of survival. Recommended.

Day 1 - Italian Crime

‘Caliber 9’ (1972)

Kicking it off with some good old fashioned Italian cops and robbers violence.
June 1, 2025 at 9:06 PM
‘Warrior of the Lost World’ (1983)

Ginty on a foul-mouthed Street Hawk
Wasteland=field with old cars
Hammer!
