so everything in and plugged in but failing to POST with CPU and DRAM lights on so time to troubleshoot that!
... had to take loads back out because i didnt realise i should do the PSU first and left it till last oops. also apparently squeezed out all my thermal paste so need to re-do that

File > Preferences > Canvas > Display Resolution > Settings
Get a ruler, line it up as best you can with the slider, and voila! Now you can go to View > Print Size for any piece that has a measurement (in, cm, mm, etc) and DPI set to view (and work on!) the piece at the size it will print at!
