Building skills to help shelter dogs. Students in professor Ellen Furlong's canine cognition class practiced training techniques yesterday, focusing on socialization and understanding dog behavior. Next week, students will visit the Lexington Humane Society to work with adoptable dogs.

It was a sweet Valentine’s treat for Transylvania as the university’s Together for Transy annual day of giving showed the love from the community. The event secured a total of $543,299.51 in donations, the second-highest total in the event’s nine-year history.
