This is a great video highlighting Rail Partners' achievements over the past few years (I even make a few appearances). I've been collecting my thoughts now that it's over and Day 1 of funemployment has begun. Kicking around the idea of restarting my blog, so I'll see how that goes.

This photo has trains, a gin distillery, and a Last Word cocktail - and a happy Jeff. Fun fact: the Last Word was invented in Michigan at the Detroit Athletic Association in the 1910s, I might add. It’s the export I’m most proud of from my home state - a cocktail (screw Madonna or vehicles)!

Had another amazing journey on the Caledonian Sleeper last night - first time in 5 years! That said, the ride was pretty rough and kept me up. Network Rail is clearly neglecting the infrastructure. At one point I thought we were about to derail and had to hold on so I didn’t fall out of the bed!

Just leaned that my hometown, St. Joseph Michigan, had a prohibition-era speakeasy called… “Bucket of Blood”. That’s hardcore and I’m here for it. I can picture Al Capone and his gang, who had a home(s) here, frequenting the establishment for a gin or two. Maybe this is why I love gin so much. 🤔

I couldn’t come to Chicago without going to my favourite, and best in my opinion, coffee shop - The Coffee Studio in Andersonville. If you’re in Aville, make sure to check it out and support independent, local businesses!

Just @amtrak.com arriving at my hometown station (St. Joseph, Michigan). Totally unplanned. The station is located next to Silver Beach. Sadly it’s too dark to see, but Lake Michigan is just past the trees in the background.
