From November 11–17, the global sangha will gather for this resounding, celebrating the inaugural anniversary of the Thousand Buddha Temple. As 84000 marks fifteen years of translating the words of the Buddha, we are deeply honored for our translations to be part of this offering.

For 84000, this Lhabab Düchen also marks a historic milestone: for the first time, the full collection of our translated sūtras will be recited in English—joining voices in Pali, Chinese, and Tibetan—at the Buddha’s birthplace in Lumbini.

Just two years later, in 2015, our reach went global. Over 800 participants from 32 cities and countries came together online to recite the Buddha’s words in the first-ever global online sūtra resounding — a joint effort by 84000 and Siddhartha’s Intent.

He encourages us that what’s being done is no small feat — that making the Buddha’s words available in English not only touches countless lives today, but will continue to have a lasting impact for generations to come.
