His parents had to deal with the learning curve of getting him what he needed without the usual vocal cues, so everything took longer and put more stress on him. Once they got their system down, he was quickly a very curious baby

Leokian would stumble into a #Shadowheart romance if he wasn’t with Astarion. He doesn’t like the other two in the party, so he’d end up closest with her. It would be different than the in-game romance, and he’d have more layers of his issues to work on for opening up to her, but he’d get there

That’s how Astarion pampers Syvin - seeing his needs and seeing to them as the only person who truly can.

But Astarion also on rare occasion will plan a whole trip. First one is to visit the old party, of course.

Making it so Syvin is safe to be off and can truly be off, making decisions that are known to be good for and to him, and giving just enough pushback that Syvin allows himself the permission

So the best way to get him the rest he needs is to go behind his back and schedule a vacation. Mainly Astarion does staycations - keep him in the bedroom and order a bath, read a book aloud while he cuddles up, etc - making plans for Syvin to be off and everyone ordered to leave him alone.

Once they’re rid of tadpoles and settled into their home, Astarion can start to see Syvin truly melt at the end of his nights. But of course, things can still linger in his mind, people can interrupt, and Astarion can see him struggling when he can’t have his “off” time.
