Senators Mike Crapo and Bill Cassidy have released their alternative to the ACA subsidies. The new Republican proposal would permanently ban Medicaid and ACA coverage of gender-affirming care in exchange for a few years of subsidies that are much weaker.

A bill to effectively ban gender-affirming care for all ages has been proposed in Missouri. The bill, SB 1190—proposed by the Senate Majority Whip—would authorise malpractise lawsuits against gender-affirming care providers. It will run them out of the state.

After threatening to revoke trans people’s passports, the Trump administration has now walked it back. Now, the Department of State’s website once again asserts passports will be valid until they expire, removing any language of invalidation.
