NYC based photographer trying to document how transit weaves itself into the fabric of the communities it serves.
Wanted to post my favorite vintage subway ad that I saw last week. I'd never seen this one before, and I think we should bring it back for other parts of the city!

This year, the MTA finally modernized its communications. Replacing signs to clearly show the route of the nostalgia train as well as tracking the train through the network!

Quick little birthday post, trying to get more active again on here! But here's an M8 emerging from the Park Avenue tunnel while I take more photos! #trains #photography

Yesterday was Summerstreets and I ended up walking the length of the upper Manhattan portion including this view of the 1 train! My 8 mile walk was incredible, seeing a world where we prioritized people over cars The streets were quieter safer and created incredible spaces for community #photography

My favorite trainset from the parade of trains. The BU Gate cars, built between 1903-1907. These cars are 120 years old and still running today! Being on a train this old is one of the most surreal experiences you can have riding the MTA #trains #photography

A 1916 BMT Standard subway car pulling with people really enjoying the view out of the window! #trains #photography

Probably my one of my favorite photos I've ever taken! I love the texture of the R32, and was so glad to see its inclusion this weekend! HUGE thanks to @nytransitmuseum.bsky.social, this was my favorite event they've put on to date! #trains #photography

First (of many) photo from today's Parade of Trains. The train pictured here is an R11/34 train built around 1949. This is one of the newer trains running, alongside a regular R46 Q which was built between 1975-78. While both are old, only one is considered nostalgic! #trains #photography

Some layered perspective on the new Queensboro Bridge walkway! #trains #photography

It's so eerie seeing such a busy terminal this empty. Normally, these tracks are full of trains coming in and out but seeing it all sealed off it was surreal.

Traveled out to Hoboken on the last day of the NJT strike. Been a tough year for Hoboken passengers, first the PATH closure now this. But there is a return to normal as these photos show. #trains #photography

Inwood is such a cool, layered area. I think there's very few times on the street when you can be this far up above the elevated subway! The 215th street stairs give a great view of the 1 train stop. #trains #photography

Haven't been posting a lot lately, very busy but here's a cool shot of what you can see from the top of Stilwell Avenue! If you look closely, you can even see the skyline! #trains #photography

Another opening day photo, this time of the crowds filing out of the 1917 Low-V's. The Yankees fans always stand out amongst the crowd! #trains #photography

I got to hang out around Yankee Stadium today, rode the Low-V's but also stayed to see the train of many colors pull in! Only in New York can you get a view of a nearly 65 year old train running past a massive, modern MLB stadium with hundreds of fans cheering it on. #trains #photography

This is a unique perspective of the M train tracks crossing off road. Normally, elevated tracks follow the path of other roads in the area but here in Ridgewood, you can see how the train tracks split up the homes in the neighborhood. #trains #photography

Went up to Bronxville yesterday, I've got a bunch of photos of the amazing 1916 station house, but I really like this photo of a train arriving at the station from the quite large parking lot. #trains #photography

Got to spend a cold morning at Coney Island, and captured this Q train departing the station. I love the way the sun pokes through the solar paneled roof, makes for some cool shadows! #trains #photography

Some construction beside the Arrows at Hoboken! I'm very glad that the PATH station is open again, makes this very pleasant terminal far less of an ordeal to get to! (though PATH did a great job with alternatives when they were running) #trains #photography

Apologies for the lack of posting, been very busy. But I wanted to post this photo from the tiny NYC park, only accessible from the inbound platform at Riverdale! #trains #photography

Forest Ave is a weird stop. Instead of being below a street, you can see it hangs over in somewhat of an awkward way over other homes. It has an exit on to a busy street, but as a result of the stations design it stacks passengers by the street, making the rest of it feel emptier #photography

I wonder if people can fully understand what this station is, or what trains stop here. The entrance is very nondescript, and all the signage is vandalized! I imagine only people in the know would ever encounter this. #trains #photography

The lights of a train as the sky gets darker is always a powerful contrast, but especially at a station as beautiful as Spuyten Duyvil! #trains #photography

The historic old turntable past Port Jervis station. I really like the overgrowth, I'm still in awe that this is technically commuting distance from New York City. It feels like a whole different world! #trains #photography

An extremely liminal waiting room at Forest Hills, it feels like a space that isn't inside a train station. The bench doesn't face the platform, and I will say this area had a distinct smell. But it was strikingly atmospheric. #trains #photography
