Submission Info #1 Submission basics: You must be at least 18 years of age to submit. You can submit as many things as you like. You can submit as many times as you like. You can submit past works which you have already made. You can submit sketches, spot art, and other things which are not necessarily ‘fully finished’ pieces. You can submit anonymously if you wish. Submission Info #2 What kinds of things can be submitted? Pretty much anything! Illustrations, paintings, sketches, spot art, comics etc. which may be digital or traditional; Fanfiction, essays, analysis, poetry, etc.; Collages, cosplay photography, fibre crafts, patterns, etc.; Digital-only works such as video, audio, or interactive ones; Artistic nudity and NSFW are allowed. Submission Info #3 What exactly fits the theme? Any interpretation of the combined mars-venus symbol being applied to Dio. Whether you see Dio as trans masc, or trans fem, or anything else; whether you use a current definition of transness, or how it might have manifested itself in the 1880s or in the 1980s; whether you take the combined mars-venus symbol to mean trans, nonbinary, androgynous, intersex, or something else – I want to see it. Trans Dio Zine Submission period extended until 30th April 2026! Any interpretation of the combined Mars (male) - Venus (female), AKA androgyne, symbol is welcome. Sketches, illustrations, paintings, comics, spot art, fanfic, analysis & essays, poetry, cosplay photography, collages, fibre crafts, video, audio, interactive works... and anything else! It has been decided that the zine will be both physical and digital, and that it will be for charity! All net proceeds will go to UK charity TransActual. #transdiozine
Submissions will open in a couple of days! ✨
Decisions: The zine will be both physical and digital. The majority of respondents said that they would be happy with a physical zine, with around half of all respondents preferring physical! The zine will be for charity. 90% of respondents agreed that the zine should be for charity! This means that all the money made after pre-orders, printing, and leftover sales will go to UK charity TransActual. They advocate for trans people and provide information about trans issues, with a focus on essential areas like healthcare, legal rights, and press coverage. These are especially important right now, as we see trans people’s dignity and rights put under threat by UK media and government. transdiozine.carrd.co

Q&A #1: Here are answers to some questions and concerns that people have raised so far.

Will submissions about Diego be allowed? Yes! He is an alternative universe version of Dio after all. Is traditional art allowed? Absolutely! I want to encourage a wide range of media and types of submissions. Illustrations, sketches, paintings, fanfiction, written analysis, poetry, collages, cosplay photography, fibre crafts, patterns, etc... Pieces which are not of typically 'fully finished' quality are also welcome. Can the submission window be extended? Yes, your point that people almost always ask for extensions is a good one. I will gladly make the submission window 5 months instead of 3, i.e. early July to mid December. This will likely push the schedule back more than two months overall though, due to the formatting period beginning during the holidays.
