@jamespindell.bsky.social you seem to only look at the balance of political power and are not examining the morality from which that power is derived from. Analyzing trans rights from a public opinion perspective denies all trans peoples' humanity. Its objectification pure 'n simple.

This article does not address how trans rights have been used as a wedge issue by Trump.Musk. or the scale of trans people in sport (we are a tiny population + no evidence to suggest trans women on HRT for 2+years have an unfair advantage over cis athletes).

I remember my first class of intro to philosophy in undergrad; we talked about the power of questions. The example the prof gave was how does asking "are women as smart as men?" effect the resulting discourse. The TLDR of that topic is: the question you ask leads to inherent assumption on a topic.
