📢 URGENT: Grants are currently delayed! We are working on getting this fixed ASAP. (Welsh language version of this announcement coming ASAP, too)
Grants may be delayed. We have run into an issue with our Open Collective which may delay our ability to process existing or accept new grants requests. Read on for more information. Here's more information on what's happening: When we are oversubscribed on grants, we often will award part of what someone requests. In Open Collective (OC), this means that we have to change the amount requested as we can only accept or decline requests. Currently, we are unable to make these edits. We have contacted OC, but it appears that people are having trouble sending in new requests. It also appears that the OC contact page is down. What does this mean for me? If your grant has been affected, you should have received a message from us. In the meantime, we have sent a message to OC and expect a reply within three business days. We’ll keep you posted as we hear back. We’ll let you know once this is resolved so you can submit requests. Please don’t hesitate to message us with questions as we wait.

Verifying as a service user. We only have two criteria for accessing our funds. First, you need to self-describe as a trans, intersex, or nonbinary (TIN) person. Second, you need to live in Wales. So, we need two things: the first half of your postcode, and an active social media account. This is not to ‘check’ or ‘prove’ you’re TIN, just to check that you’re a real person, as we get a lot of scam requests. If you don’t have social media, we also accept: passports, driving licenses, library / student cards, and more. If your names don’t match, we may need a deedpoll. If you send us documents as proof of ID or address, please know that we do not store or keep this information. We aim to reverify service users once a year, through the same process. We have a database of service users and when they were last verified. How we triage. Our services are very often oversubscribed. While we try and give everyone as much as possible, we do need to triage your requests. These are some of the things we do when making our decisions: 1. We prioritise new service users and service users that haven’t had funds from us in a while. 2. We prioritise people who don’t have access to public funds (e.g. international students; asylum seekers). 3. We triage based on the content of the request and its urgency.
