Usually, your insurance companies' drug formulary will specify a preferred brand. It'll also list required conditions for usage (i.e. doctor must say it'll help, and you'll actually use it)

What I've learned from having to replace my broken transmitter is that your endo can usually yell at them better than you can. Make sure your pump is their "preferred" one and if it isn't your doc might need to give them a medical necessity form.
