Mass Effect and Dragon Age. Purely because of how clunky/dated they are, and how many times I’ve seen people bang their head against them. Including myself. Lmao.

"I'm apolitical" just means "I'm happy with the status quo," and "don't talk about politics" just means "don't rock the boat." Those of us who suffer under the status quo don't have the luxury of being apolitical, and those who don't suffer have an obligation to stand with those who do.

Okay, I’ve tried to be chill, but now we have to be friends, WHAT. I LOVE THAT SERIES. 😍

… Wait, what? No, that was never the issue. I haven’t supported WWE for years now, I just keep up with it on social media. I don’t watch weekly and don’t buy anything. My issue is not that I want to support them, I already don’t. The issue is not following it at all, even in passing.

That doesn’t make either better or worse than the other, but then you have to decide if you want to watch anime or not. But in this context, you’re just never gonna watch SpongeBob or How To Train Your Dragon or The Incredibles again. Only Ghibli and MHA and One Piece. That’s why it’s hard to do.

Put it this way: pro wrestling and WWE are the same thing in my brain. It’s not AEW doing a wrestling show, it’s AEW doing their version of a WWE show. That is how it reads to someone who only grew up with one way of seeing it. Like if you only watch western animation, anime is weird by comparison.

It’s not Coke vs Pepsi, it’s the NFL vs the CFL. Or what I mentioned, Hollywood vs international film markets. Or literally like going gluten-free. Will it be better for you? Yeah. Do you have to like it? No, not really. And that is the conversation.

That is what I’m trying to say. Leaving WWE behind means leaving alllllllllllll that shorthand and history. It’s not that I can’t do it, like I’m physically incapable, it’s would I still love it without all of that? Or does it just slide off my back?

I can’t have the same callbacks in AEW, the memes, the unwritten rules. The first African champion in NJPW won’t mean what Kofi winning at WM35 meant, I won’t mark out the same way when *blank* wins the big one the way I would if Zelina or Woods became world champ.

Happened a decade ago. That’s what I mean. It’s not that I can’t accept *anything* new, it’s that I already accepted WWE’s baggage and bullshit, Idk if AEW or ROH or NJPW or whatever will be worth accepting NEW baggage when I can’t have any of what I loved about wrestling come with me.

The same. I honestly really don’t like the general vibe around AEW being so anti-WWE, cause it makes me question if the stuff is actually good, or is it just “not-WWE”. Is the match good, or was there a lot of blood? Was it good, or does it rely on you having a specific opinion about something that

I should not like WWE. I only like it because I grew up with it, because if I didn’t, and you asked me to learn it from scratch, I would have probably stopped waaaaaaaay back at the HHH marrying a drugged Steph. And sure, that’s extreme, and AEW isn’t the exact same as that, but the principle is

All I’m saying is that, if I had not literally gotten into WWE as a non-critically thinking child, I have no idea if I would be a fan or not. WWE is a thing I enjoy with a LOOOOOOOOOT of caveats. Racism, sexism, assault scandals, generally just awful business and creative decisions, by all accounts
