Sharing a soft pastel painting I did earlier this year. I really have a tough time when it gets dark around 4 pm, except I love the bonus of the golden hour arriving before dinner.

Have a wonderful weekend❄️🩵❄️

Let’s bring a little winter serenity to your feed today! This piece, “Sunbeam Splashdown,” captures that magical moment when sunlight dances across a snowy stream, turning the coldest day into something warm and inviting. I love how the soft pastels let me layer those icy blues and golden grasses

There’s something magical about a quiet path winding through snowy woods, don’t you think? I created this piece to capture that peaceful hush—the way winter light dances on the land and the mountains stand watch in the distance. Every pastel stroke is a little love letter to New England’s beauty.

Just a small color study for you to enjoy today. I really don’t like to paint small but this week I’m working small as I think about starting a new series of work in soft pastel.

What season should I paint next?

There’s something magical about the quiet strength of mountains, isn’t there? Whenever I paint a mountain scene, I’m transported right back to those early mornings in the national parks—when the mist is still clinging to the peaks and the world feels hushed, as if nature itself is holding its breath

Caught the golden hour in a cemetery with tombstones from 1803…I wonder what words of wisdom they would have after living through the early years of our country 🤔

There’s one painting that holds a special place in my heart—my wintery Central Park scene. The original will always stay with me, but I’m thrilled to offer fine art prints so you can bring this peaceful moment into your own space. On sale today at TrailsEdgeFineArt.com

If only the trees in our old New England cemeteries could talk. Imagine the stories they’d share-of settlers forging new lives, poets + writers shaping our nation’s voice, and families gathering beneath their branches for generations. Stories of our past-did we learn from them?

Started a new painting today..plenty more work to do on it but I thought I’d share my process. First a sketch of the large shapes, then I use a brush and rubbing alcohol to finish the underpainting. Once it dries i use my soft pastel sticks- more to finish

There’s something magical about the way Sedona’s red rocks meet the cool, rushing water. The contrast of bold, earthy stone and the gentle movement of the creek made it the ideal place to rest, refuel, and soak in the beauty all around us.
