They do random stops all the time at airports. In my own experience I've had to open my bags and go through them with security and there's other times where I didn't even have to walk through a body scanner. It's completely f****** random and they can use that excuse. Hassan took that away from them
May 15, 2025 at 2:00 PM
If Hassan becomes hostile in that interrogation and refuses to answer questions the right-wing media will paint him as some extremist freaking out over nothing. Now he has proof the incident was politically motivated and he gets to control the narrative. This is political theater. It's what he does.
May 15, 2025 at 1:44 PM
No, there has to be an actual story with meat to it. Hassan doesn't have a story to tell if they don't ask him politically motivated questions. I'm sure that moving forward he'll just immediately ask for a lawyer and say nothing because he already has the story and media attention.

You really think he cares about being arrested.
His risk tolerance is much higher than ours.

Do you think that judge is going to serve 6 years????

She isn't. And you know it.

And Hasan knows that the worst case scenario FOR HIM is a prolonged court battle that he can turn into content.
May 15, 2025 at 12:58 PM
I completely understand this point and sympathize.
I AM NOT A WEALTHY CELEBRITY

But if we have wealthy celebrities willing to do the dirty work that we can't do, that's a good thing.
We may not like Hasan's tactics but at least he is trying.

Martha got a slap on the wrist for not snitching. She did 5 whole months in a low security prison. Since then she has gotten more fame, more money, and more influence.

Explain to me how those consequences are bad.
May 14, 2025 at 2:59 PM
Explain what risk Hasan is taking? Why should he be scared?
He can walk around middle fingers in the air and if they arrest him he has the money to fight them in court and will most likely win.
Do you think Dugan is actually going to serve 6 years when this is settled?

Wisconsin judge Hannah Dugan is indicted on accusations she helped a man evade immigration agents

No, I just think that when you have money and clout like he does your risk/reward ratio changes.
I would STFU if I was in that situation.
Rich celebrities with connections have more liberty to take chances. He has access to lawyers and plenty of money. We don't. He's playing a different game
May 14, 2025 at 2:44 PM
He isn't going to rot in jail. He will be out on bail tomorrow and he'll literally make a show about his court proceedings.
May 14, 2025 at 10:19 AM
Read the article a few times just to make sure I was getting it. It doesn't answer that question.
Did it ever cross your mind that he doesn't care to fuck around a bit?
There isn't anything they can arrest for that he couldn't get out of. He has the money and lawyers to challenge a frivolous charge.
May 14, 2025 at 10:18 AM
Incriminated himself to what???
They can make up any charge they want. It's still a made up charge. He is a US citizen. If they disappear him without due process it's National news tomorrow.
He wants to go to court against the Trump administration. He pokes the bear on purpose all the time.
May 14, 2025 at 3:00 AM
Using your privileged status to make an example of a corrupt regime is a good thing, no?

It's political theater. He is playing his part.
May 14, 2025 at 2:58 AM
It's political theater and marketing. He doesn't think that they could charge him with anything his lawyers wouldn't be able to fight. The risk is worth it to him.
May 14, 2025 at 2:56 AM
No, I just understand marketing and political theater.

I'm not saying I would play word games with the police. I'm also not a celebrity activist with access to the best lawyers.
May 14, 2025 at 2:54 AM
I get that you are concerned with self preservation. Me too. I'm not rich.
But when you are an activist celebrity like Piker, you have to be willing to pull stunts like this. It's literally what he does. Poking the bear of authority is his career.
May 14, 2025 at 2:53 AM
He is pretty popular. Millions and millions across multiple platforms.
May 14, 2025 at 2:50 AM
I do think people from wealthy families usually get easier sentences.
May 14, 2025 at 2:49 AM
Never? No. Sometimes rich people do enough of a stupid thing to get convicted regardless of their lawyers ability.
Hasan isn't in that category. He isn't actually a criminal.
May 14, 2025 at 2:48 AM
It's a massive political risk for the Trump administration to go after Piker right now.
They would have to gin up some serious charges to keep the public at bay. And unless Piker actually has ties to Hamas, he should be poking the bear.
May 14, 2025 at 2:46 AM
If I had his money and access and family ties, I might throw those dice.
May 14, 2025 at 2:41 AM
If they have to twist his words to fit some "crime" he has the lawyers and clout to fight it.
Unless you think they are actually going to disappear him to Venezuela, the consequences aren't really all that bad for him. He is making a calculated risk to get a story. Looks like he called their bluff
May 14, 2025 at 2:40 AM
Also, Martha did actually commit a crime. Hasan hasn't.
May 14, 2025 at 2:37 AM
It does but they can afford to deal with the system through money and clout.
How do you think the ones actually committing crimes survive long enough to become President?
May 14, 2025 at 2:37 AM
He is making a political statement from an admitted position of privilege

You and I can't take that kind of chance but he can.
Arresting him only makes his megaphone bigger.
May 14, 2025 at 2:35 AM
Would be doing better if they could afford a lawyer like the ones Piker can afford.
