Democrats will continue holding Republicans accountable for breaking their promise to lower costs and will keep fighting to protect Americans’ health care, defend SNAP benefits, and make life more affordable for the people we represent.

Trump and GOP leaders still have no plan to lower health care costs, no plan to help families afford their groceries and utility bills, and no plan to prevent this kind of reckless brinkmanship from happening again.

Instead of doing their jobs, House Republicans went on vacation while millions of Americans went without a paycheck and families faced mounting uncertainty.

Now, after causing the longest government shutdown in our nation’s history, those same Republicans are taking a victory lap.

I’m not throwing in the towel. I’ll keep pushing for an agreement that helps hardworking Massachusetts families afford their health care.

Regardless of the underlying facts, no one should be subjected to that level of force by ICE in our community — especially in front of a child. We will continue seeking answers and accountability.

We’ll continue fighting to ensure hardworking families get the support they need to put food on the table and keep their homes warm.
