Learning piano is OP for rhythm games above 4k. 6k is so much more intuitive now

My singular purchase of the Autumn Steam sale is the first game in the Trails in the Sky trilogy. Looking forward to getting around to that once I finish Mask of Truth

I wonder living in an era where you could freely engage with a work that you hadn't finished yet and still avoid spoilers was like. Now I just get them algorithmically recommended to me in a way that's nearly impossible to fully avoid when I just listen to music from the first part of a thing

Truly have replaced the gacha urge to do dailies with the urge to read at least a little bit of VN daily

It's time for peak. This thread is practically guaranteed to be almost exclusively vague reactions because the entire intro synopsis for Uta3 is spoiler text for Uta2

I already love Utawarerumono so much even for just having finishing 1 and 2. Can't wait for Mask of Truth!

Seeing stuff on the Trails in the Sky remake is reminding me that I need to get around to playing that (probably the original because it looks charming to me and I've heard you really dont want have to wait between 1 and 2). Perhaps that will be my next trilogy after I wrap up Utawarerumono.

I may be at the peak of mount stupid, but it feels like learning Japanese is going to be way easier and quicker than other languages I've learned because it will be my third. Obviously it is still a journey where the process should be valued with improvement measured against oneself

The grind can properly begin

I've really come to the opinion that scoring things numerically is at best a conversation starter like tierlists and at worst actively poisons the way we interact with media

Ordered Genki. We're actually learning Japanese for real now

Last I checked, trees don't run

Still thinking about how one of the last songs in Uta1 was "foreshadowed" with the melody being presented in a way that just made me think it was only part of the slice of life and then they completely rearrange in at one of the last scenes as a fully realized piece which just *hits*

If you went back in time and told younger me that future me's favorite gaming experiences would be story-rich single-player experiences that are 80-100% reading, they wouldn't believe you

I should get a physical copy of Prelude to the Fallen to replace that Japanese copy of Oshi no Ko I have on my shelf that's been sitting there since before that ending...

Immediately into uta2 on a plane. This should supposedly be peak
August 24, 2025 at 5:30 PM
Finished Utawarerumono: Prelude to the Fallen

Great experience overall. I'm looking forward to Uta2!

Saw Grave of the Fireflies today. What else can I say besides heartrendingly beautiful.

I need to analyze the score for the last scene, but that's going to have to wait a while

A bit over 15 hours into Utawarerumono so far and it definitely has potential

11 hour prologue...
This game is going to be amazing
August 8, 2025 at 12:39 AM
Hadn't played anything serious, non-serialized, and entirely self-contained for a minute and got a good handful of hours into a game and went "Oh damn they can just kill characters in this"

Why is my 50/50 luck better than my 75/25 luck? The answer may surprise you!
