I'll go first: Where the Red Fern Grows by Wilson Rawls

Read it in school when I was 10, shortly after my childhood dog died.

Sobbed all through English class each of those days as it was read aloud. Later wrote the final chapter out longhand into a spiral notebook at home; sobbed a lot again.
