This book was transcribed about a century ago but he made some mistakes and of course wasn't using the same methodology as me. So I have to do it all ab initio 😞

I've been working on early modern mss for some 20 years and this is one of the trickiest, partly due to its condition.

The current building is mostly 16th/17th century. It originally had a very large churchyard, which was used to stage plays until the mid 16th century. Now a guild church: here are the Fishmongers' Company arms on the ceiling.

It's kind of a kooky gothic pub, which isn't as cringe as it sounds. A good place to sit quietly with a pint and let it all happen around you. (Adnam's Ghost Ship, in this instance.)
