AI layoffs across Silicon Valley swept up more than a quarter million people in 2025 and will spread to the rest of Tech. Amazon announced it's laying off 14,000 employees in a memo that cited AI, kicking off a plan that the Wall Street Journal reports will affect as many as 30,000 corporate jobs.

In Pennsylvania electricity has risen 13% from a year ago, as utilities upgrade electric grids to accommodate new AI data centers. The cost of heating a home this winter is expected to rise 7.6 % to an average $1389 because of rising electricity for new AI data centers.
