I don't know how to describe the absolute dissonance I feel between how they seemingly see me, and how I am. And it feels like whenever I try to show them Me they reject it. I know they're not a bad person and if we talk it'll probably be fine but I need to process this first.

(They scold you like a child when you do something they disagree with even though you're both adults. They make you feel stupid. You get defensive. You don't like to be treated this way. And they've been your best friend for a decade. It feels like you don't fit the image they have of you anymore.)

(The person you once felt closest to keeps moscharacterizing you. "Of course *you'd* do that", they say. When you try to correct them they take it as yet another confirmation of their view of you. They comment very slightly negatively on a physical feature of you that you've always found beautiful.)

I also did a variety of spells. protection, cord cutting binding... of course after actually confronting him and trying to talk. But since he didn't listen at all might as well. And it seems to have worked!
