Paying off for 4 years is something, but is it enough?

This way they could sell naming rights for the inauguration — The Gazprom Inauguration is not far into our future.

I feel like I've spent a billion dollars on Richard Thompson CDs and concert tickets. Is he there yet?

I love the live cut from David Letterman. Jason Isbell, who also plays guitar on the record, was so young: youtu.be/5LLqFF89UtU?...

I wish the name is the thing was not a thing, because "newsletter" and "substack" are kinda dumb. Blog as a generic catchall for this kind of content was just fine. Full confession - I pay the most attention to things I can set up RSS feeds for. Hope that applies to your Patreon content/.

For what it’s worth, what they’re doing ain’t exactly clear

While I'm glad that Longwell and Miller are on the side of liberal democracy at this moment, I don't trust them for the long haul and I fully expect that they will try to undermine anyone who manages to be in a position to clean up the mess they helped make. JVL - now he interests me and I trust him

"I want a Google Reader" was always the wrong way to think about it. What you really mean is "I want an RSS server" and a client app (or web app), and those never died.
December 9, 2025 at 2:43 AM
Don't worry at all about which service/app is the best. They're likely all pretty good and you can adapt efficient workflows on any of them.
December 9, 2025 at 2:40 AM
Just pick an RSS server -- I use Feedly and pay for it -- and a client app (I use Reeder on Apple devices). I read all my subscribed newsletters this way. Sometimes I have to share the articles back to the website, where I then share them to a read-later app (I use Readwise). It can be done quickly.

My primary criterion, even above electability, is who is most likely to clean house. If we don’t do that, any respite will be temporary. As for Newsome, he’s good with a quip, but I don’t trust him to clean the house

You are letting VF and the NYT off way too easy. There’s an alternate view to this story where they are the most important part of it.

I suspect that both numbers are significantly lower now because from March 2020-May 2021, for most of those women, that was their first exposure to COVID-19. Now, the vast majority of women will have built up significant immunity to COVID-19, and most infections are milder.

I didn't take a screenshot, but I'm pretty sure the original title of the article on the website was "Did Women Ruin The Workplace?"

You would think that an uber-policy wonk like Klein would understand the difference between the Dem/progressive agenda and the cartoon Republican version of it. Yes, the cartoon version disappointingly resonates, but that’s quite a different problem.

Not in this universe. Netanyahu and the Republicans would not let him, and reporters like you would have helped in the project.
