A Chrysaora fuscescens, from back in my jellyfish-wrangling days. Haven't been stung by one of these in a long time, alas. #WorldJellyfishDay #chrysaora
A large Pacific sea nettle (Chrysaora fuscescens) with dark red tentacles trailing from the edge of a pale orange bell, swims upward against a black background. In the translucent white oral arms hanging from the center of the bell like ribbons, tiny bright orange dots of plankton that have been captured as food are being collected. The arms and tentacles are very long and continue out of frame.
