I've been struggling with this situation for awhile now but after reading your post I decided to say fuck it and drew this in hope's it gives you good vibes in the future! Tried adding some negative space to create like an aura of some kind.

Kind of an ugly, semi realism character study of bugrat while I try to figure out his features. Wanted to give him a bear nose so he fits into his bugbear heratige more. Also wanted to see how he can look with eyebrows. Considering having them connected to either his sideburns or upper hairline.
