Now, I think it’s interesting to note the name of the paint company whose products were used on Philadelphia homes before 1978. Their commercials were iconic in my youth.

“The Girl in the Blue Dress” is by Dutch painter Verspronck and hangs in Amsterdam’s Rijksmuseum. Note the girl’s white facial makeup which was likely lead carbonate or ‘white lead.’ Historians believe many aristocratic children died of lead poisoning in the 1600s.
