Thanks. I love characters that look a little beat up and tired of the world. Maybe that's my own sentiment heh.

Correct - a master. One of the few key favorite artists of mine - all old or dead or might as well be.

Never tried that. James Gurney uses colored pencils on top of gouache/watercolor sometimes. I love him.

A few colors with a light wash is as much as this paper can take. I do have some fancy Saunders Waterford paper I got before tariffs on European goods kicked in but I've got to knock more rust off before I'm comfortable using it. Thanks for looking!

Oh I could also say > a tip for shorter or mid range lines > place a dot at the start and end point (doesn't have to be a straight line) > then connect the two. Helps with hand/eye coordination. Also a good aid for drawing freehand in pen (like you do!).

Thought it was shitty but I'm trying out this dang phone on a few things. I dont draw large so I'm moving my wrist more, and I tend to hold my breath when I drag longer lines but I think that damages my aortas more than helping with linework. Thanks for the kindness!

On pencil layers > try a harder lead and lighter touch (HB / H 2 - 4). And when using a kneaded eraser > try rolling it over your light pencils instead of rubbing > wont damage the paper and ink layer as much. Good luck to you!

Gee thanks - I use sakura pigma microns (or just simply 'microns' .03 usually but sometimes .05 for thicker contours -black but they do come in colors.). Every once in a while I pick up a dip pen (with blue pumpkin nibs and india ink and sometimes also use india ink/brush for large black areas.).
