This was such an awesome experience, especially for an av geek like myself, and I am so happy I get to say I was there when the new Pittsburgh terminal officially opened (and played a part in the process!)

I don’t always enjoy midnight shifts, but an overnight deployment to Pittsburgh Int’l to support their EOC during a transition from an old terminal to a brand new one? Yes yes and 100% yes. Nerding out over here.

What is this oversaturated slop doing in my discover feed

Did I just catch AF1?

That’s a little strange. Some sorta survey or something I guess?

Anyone know what this is / what caused it?

Took three months but the Pirates finally did something right

In other news, I officially bought a #SellTheTeam shirt today.

The Pittsburgh Pirates are an infuriating baseball team.

This storm is entirely CGs. Giving me major Mobile flashbacks. @backinblackwx.bsky.social @morganabigail.bsky.social

Well this isn’t ideal, especially given the largest annual festival in Pittsburgh is starting today with storms possible and a heat index > 90F.

How I feel about today.

We tell people to curb as much outdoor activity as possible during heat waves like this.

Meanwhile in Major League Baseball:

We had the most amazing asparagus soup at a local restaurant the other night. Today, walking through the store, @kelcerms.bsky.social goes “I’m gonna recreate it” and then proceeds to totally wing doing so.

Let me tell ya… 🤌

11/10 highly recommend. I don’t even care that it’s 90 degrees outside.

Catastrophic flash flooding one week, heat wave the next. I strongly condemn the weather this month.

This was a super enjoyable build and I am pleasantly surprised by how durable it is for being so thin. Included a retractable nose and gear, and working flaps/rudder. #Concorde #LEGO

Yesterday was the best birthday I could possibly ask for. Thank you @kelcerms.bsky.social ❤️

Here’s to 35! Officially closer to 40 than 30 😳

Tons of rain dumped on the Youghiogheny and Cheat basins yesterday, draining into the Monongahela flowing towards Pittsburgh. But thanks to USACE locks/dams along the Mon, water only rose a foot at The Point in downtown Pittsburgh. I don't know how this city survived the pre-locks and dams era.

Thunderstorm outflow + sea breeze formed a sort of storm-scale “triple point” near Jacksonville. Kicked off a storm that anchored to it and rode south, doing some interesting stuff along the way.

Being in the east-northeast quadrant of a closed, vertically stacked upper low is fun. This little shower immediately developed a meso and turned right, moving NNE instead of NNW

I don’t think I’ve answered the phone or performed interviews more times in a single shift than I did today. Absolutely chaotic. I’ll be hearing our office phones ringing in my nightmares tonight.
