Stick to one film stock if possible, learn it's ins and outs, don't buy one of each. Contrary to digital, overexposing is better than underexposing so always meter for shadows. Most importantly just keep in mind that you will fail, and that's fine, film is brutal with that.

Seriously lol, I had people tell me how the F4 is one of the most ergonomic cameras they ever held. Honey, 15 seconds in the thrift store doesn't count, I love this thing to bits but it's like shooting with a cinderblock.
