the issue is that it will cause an oversaturation in "popular" timeslots for registration numbers, which will spread the playerbase thin, and people who cant make 8pm on a saturday night will just be shit outta luck unless some madlad pays sendou money to host a tournament any other day

In addition API keys will be tied to tournament perms. So again if you are a member of established org then you can automatically generate one or have the perms via Patreon perk. Old API keys will stop working after this month.

RIP all OCE tournaments? It’s difficult for us to even reach 50 monthly active players because our region is so small.
Criteria to gain: 150 monthly active players in events across last 6 months. If it drops below 100 the org loses it. I will check these every 6 months (next check in June 2026).

I'm using Bluesky solely to respond to this because I think this SO ridiculous. This bar is set way too high and only serves to alienate people from wanting to contribute. What ever the reason for this will not justify the loss of passionate up and coming TOs.
