Apparently, the academy are still gonna be the readers but the universities are gonna “vet” the scripts before they’re sent for consideration. But I have no idea what vet means because according to the info I found they won’t be reading them so what does vetting means??

Apparently academy members are still the readers but the universities are gonna “vet” the scripts before they send them to be evaluated. But I have to idea what “vet” means because the universities won’t be reading the scripts?? confusing
