The Storyteller's Daughter has sold over 50,000 copies. That's like every single person in, say, Southampton – man woman and child – buying a copy.
Amazing.

I know there's a lot going on in the world at the moment but those who lived through 9/11 will never forget what happened that day, and nor should we.
This quote is on a huge screen at the memorial museum in NYC & I remember reading it & sobbing.
What will survive of us is love.

The House on the Cliff is out in a month! It's up for pre-order everywhere, including Amazon. Order here: amzn.to/467TLkU

It's another historical gothic mystery, this time set in beautiful Cornwall.

Fun fact: I took the book to Gunwalloe Cove in Cornwall last week to take this pic and lost it.

So thank you, all of you! Your support means a great deal to me and I promise to keep writing uplifting, interesting books full of human kindness for as long as you will let me.

It's amazing to have this happen five novels into my writing career.
A good example, should you need one, that success very rarely happens overnight. Sometimes, persistence wins the day.

The Storyteller's Daughter has been in the Amazon top 100 for a week.
I don't even care that it's half term and raining.

The Storyteller's Daughter is a bestseller in multiple Amazon categories at the moment.
It's pretty cool to top the WW2 fiction list, I've got to say.

Woke up to more than 2000 reviews for The House in the Water. I love how many people are reading and loving this story.
If you've read it but haven't left a review, it would be lovely if you could!
April 11, 2025 at 7:30 AM
The House in the Water is only 10 reviews away from 2000!

If you know someone who you think would love a WWII mystery featuring romance AND ghosts, please share this post with them. It's only 99p on Kindle and free with Prime.

Perfect to curl up with in the garden!

There is so much shouting on social media at the moment. So much hate. An absolute refusal to discuss or consider other points of view.
So I'm off to my imaginary world. I'll be in Victorian London if anyone needs me.

Meta has stolen my books.

It's going to make a packet from its AI but will give me nothing in return for 'scraping' (nicking) my work from a pirate site.

The UK government MUST protect its authors and ensure we are fairly compensated.

The paperwork to make me and my husband additional legal deputies for my sister has arrived.
Their existence is confirmation of an amazing story of survival.
Clare has lived with Rett syndrome for so long that there is now a possibility that she might outlive our parents.

Favourite review of The Storyteller's Daughter so far:
"I started reading it in a cat cafe and the cats did not get much attention as the book drew me into its two worlds."

A handsome airline captain in uniform just brought me a cappuccino in bed. The sun is peeking past the blinds.
Bummer he has to work at the weekend (again), but I do feel very lucky 😊
