Something to think about: Ambient air temperature = 24.3 Celsius. UV Index = 1.7 to 2.4. Light level = circa 100,000 LUX and daylight hours 9.47. So... WHAT exactly is telling the Testudo graeca graeca in this habitat that it is time to stop feeding and to dig down for their annual brumation?

Here's another excellent example of 'cryptic design' with tortoises. Here we see just how perfectly the shape and colours of the carapace (and plastron) blend in perfectly with the leaf-litter substrate of the habitat: Manouria impressa - the 'Impressed tortoise'.

We knew it would happen... we have just encountered the first AI generated 'book' on tortoise care! This will make it even harder for people to know what to trust. There is already an overwhelming amount of misinformation out there, and this will make that even worse....
