If you ever start to think too highly of humanity, just remember we're the species that decided you could use "literally" figuratively.

An essential difference between the Left and the Right is that the Right votes for what they think will benefit them individually whereas the Left votes for what they think will benefit the most collectively.

That's not to say one is of a greater/lesser moral standing than the other, necessarily.

"Do you budget to keep me in a steady supply of cannabis because it's what I want or because it makes me easier to manage?

'Both' is a possible answer but if you had to pick one... "

Some time in the not-so-distant future someone is going to refer to "the 20s" and that's going to be right now.

Saying something is remarkable is a tautological damning with faint praise.

I use it liberally.

'unknown'

ideas that float on pages of air
none other so bright, no other so fair

the knowledge of an age
writ somewhere off page

all that will be
traced where none can yet see

concepts of dream
scrivened unseen

the reality of how
not quite in the now

The Right wants to compress the normal distribution curve each end in towards the middle.

The Left wants to compress the normal distribution curve from the top towards the bottom.

A normal distribution curve defies equality.
But a normal distribution curve also defies extremity.
And everything is a normal distribution curve.
The plight of humanity is to forever battle the normal distribution curve in either our quest for equality or extremity.

Some are fascinated by the glamour of the world. They focus on the seen things and revel in the obvious.

Myself, I like the spaces between the seen; the unseen structures that make the seen possible.

There lies true beauty and insight into the profoundness of existence and reality.
