Dear film nerds, in the 1999 movie My Neighbors The Yamadas, the film gives off a peak feeling of what it was like to live life 26 years ago, without the explosions of gimmicks of other major movies. Are there any similar movies that give off the same feeling for Americana in the 2000s or 2010s?

Okay i know i shouldn't get hopeful, but the idea that the Broken Harbours side plot is getting voice acting makes me hopeful about main Dawn Chorus getting officially voice acted. That would honestly be the first time i think i've ever seen that in a vn!

i've been making a spin off of a vn i like, but the issue with that is that every new update adds so much depth to the story that i'm scared i can't do something before it just ends up being retconned or narratively impossible.
