Is casual gaming still a thing? I mean, I can pull the age card. I've been gaming since the mid 80s. I've never been very good, aside from Mario Kart 64. I fucked ruled some MK64.

Isn't there the separation of Hardcore vs. Casual? Of course I'm a filthy casual. I'm a grown up. Gone are the days spent on hobbies and enjoyment for the entire day. Work, bills... priorities have taken that space. But I still carve time to game. I still consider myself a gamer.

Instead of bashing my head against a boss fight I have failed over and over, I'll go do something else. Maybe I'll return later or another day- maybe I won't. I avoid the games that are known to be "hard" - Dark Souls? We don't know her. But is this avoidance limiting the title of gamer?
