Taking a pass on a bike ride today, but posted photos from along the Beltline trail - here's a fountain outside the Brentwood Towers apartment building- some of the first high-rise apartment buildings in Toronto, designed by Harry Kohl, and built between 1958 and 1961. wholemap.com/BeltlineYonge

Summer in Toronto has always included the Island - here is a photo of Hanlan's Hotel from the 1903 book "Fifty Glimpses of Toronto and Vicinity." This version of the hotel was built in 1880, and demolished in 1909. wholemap.com/glimpses1903 #Toronto #historicToronto #TorontoHistory

A #postcard of 'Deer and buffalo corral, High Park' with a cyclist from 1909 (by way of the Toronto Public Library. Lots of challenges in High Park over cars and access, but the zoo is a favourite with kids, since it opened 132 years ago in 1893! wholemap.com/HighParkZoo #zoo #HighPark

Yes, this really is Toronto - Scarboro Beach Park along Lake Ontario in Toronto at the foot of Scarboro Beach Blvd, 118 years ago, in 1907, the first year it operated. wholemap.com/beaches It closed in 1925. #tower #lights
