Here in Finland the Sun has been toasting everyone with a heat wave. That reminded me of another sunny day of June, but in 2023, when we had a beautiful day haunting a church ruin while having the official photoshoot of The Widows From Waste collection.

Practical and environmentally friendly, the textiles for these durable tote bags come from second-hand sources.

The handmade embroidery work takes approximately 10-15h depending on the complexity of the design.

Not only new from new but also new from old: the secondhand textiles and upcycled materials have been present in several of TORN's one-of-a-kind creations.

A wonderful example is The Widows From Waste collection which was made entirely out of secondhand clothes of velvet and lace.
