Paul Lynch’s _Prophet Song_ is an absolutely devastating novel that really got under my skin. It convincingly depicts a gradual slide into #totalitarianism, but on an intimate, human level. @ubisurv.net, if you haven’t read this one, I’m pretty sure you would like it.

We're ‪reading Petra Molnar‬'s [@petramolnar.com] The Walls Have Eyes in my surveillance studies grad seminar this week, and its rich ethnographic stories are riveting. I love the attention the book gives to the very human consequences of surveillance and captivity of people on the move.
