Did you read the stop killing games initiative at all? They're not asking for eternal support. They're asking for an end of life plan that includes offline mods or private server hosting. Furthermore, I can play most of my games that are older than you.

No. I want to play the Crew but nobody made a private server for it, nor do I have the know how to make it. I paid money for it. That's unacceptable, full stop. And companies don't do shit that's pro consumer unless they're forced to. Just because we had SOME rescue projects doesn't mean it's okay
