I'm Top, that YouTuber you've never heard of! Here I promote my channel, talk about video games and collecting, and try to be a good person.
Only though judicious rewinding could I ever #JustBeatIt Super R-type, even on easy, so that's what I did. The near constant slowdown is a blessing; normal speed returning unpredictably is what'll get you. Mostly a remix of concepts from the earlier, better games.Skip it

I booted up Gradius: The Interstellar Assault (GB) on NSO on a lark not knowing I'd #JustBeatIt (albeit w/<10? rewinds), but hot damn it was a blast! My first Gradius beat & a great entry point for shooter non-enthusiasts like me. Seems fully learnable in short order.

While I loved the music, play feel, & vibes of Mind Over Magnet, the puzzles were a bit uneven & the game did feel pretty truncated. I #JustBeatIt & likely will again for the developer's commentary. Plenty good enough, but hoping for a redemption sequel, honestly.

This website allows you to play a Tiny Mario game solely in the browser's URL bar using ASCII characters. I #JustBeatIt with a high score of 30 coins. I think I can do better. Can you best me?

Handshakes is a petite little grid puzzler on Steam & I #JustBeatIt. It's a cute idea & it was well executed, & I'd have never given it, or many other Steam games, a 2nd look had it not been for the Steam Deck. I'm hoping a Steam Machine will open as many possibilities.

I'm so old I remember the original Facebook.

Brain Break is fundamentally a take on Sokoban with very few twists & only 20 stages so it lives or dies on level design. Thankfully it delivers on the title. It took nearly 90 minutes to #JustBeatIt. Nothing extreme, just a solid feeling of mild accomplishment!

Carto is an indie coming-of-age adventure centered around an incrementally complexifying puzzle mechanic. Yep, another one of those. To #JustBeatIt was still enjoyable even though the puzzles never became overly taxing. But 100% was still out of my grasp apparently! 😅

One step greater in complexity is Star Battle. Same rules but TWO stars, which is a surprisingly different experience. Same outcome, #JustBeatIt 's Med & Difficult puzzles too.

Queens has the logical deduction of Sudoku, but reduced to its simplest concentration. One queen per row, column, & area; they cannot touch. Still a surprising level of complexity & satisfaction. #JustBeatIt all regular & difficult puzzles (fiendish lives to to the name)

Up Left Out is a somewhat abstract mobile sliding tile puzzle game, but it has a tactile quality and intuitive rules and I #JustBeatIt. Not an all-timer, but a nice vibe and an okay way to pass a bit of time.

And I obviously couldn't resist getting a #JustBeatIt on the original Sonic the Hedgehog, included in Sonic Generations. That reminds me, how many other versions of Sonic 1 do I own? 🤔 Maybe 10? That gives me an idea @polykillpodcast.bsky.social!
Should I?!

Sonic Generations is the most fun I've had playing a 3D Sonic game since Adventure 1 / 2! I didn't expect it to live up to the hype, but glad I was mistaken. I #JustBeatIt but there are still fun extras to consider chasing, something I've not done in previous iterations.

Cocoon was an incredible gaming experience when I #JustBeatIt. At once grotesque & alien yet unassailably beautiful & intuitive. The puzzly difficulty curve was gentle, but it never bored. It highly controlled its complexity while still providing satisfying aha moments.

I think my story is too simple & uninteresting. I vastly prefer console gaming to PC, so while my Steam library was less than 50 games deep, my combined libraries broke 700 (with many duplicates).
Essentially if a game is free to redeem, I'll still add it to my library just due to "collector brain".

Super Mario: Heart of the Stars Remake (beta) is a fan game in Dreams with SM Galaxy mechanics. The level design is incredibly accurate to official games. Got all 4 Grand Stars & though I couldn't find or achieve the rest, I'm calling it a #JustBeatIt for now. Very cool!

Tearaway on PS Vita is a 3D platformer that's only moderately innovative, but it over-delivers in imagination & heart. I specifically found the conclusion of the papercraft adorned adventure pretty touching when I #JustBeatIt.
(But baffled by the PS4 port's existence?)

I loved EVERYTHING about The Plucky Squire...other than playing it. It just wasn't compelling gameplay wise; somewhat toothless & friction-free. Still recommend sharing a #JustBeatIt with a younger player in your life. Perhaps having less gaming experience improves it.

Ittle Dew is a wonderful & under known petite indie block pushing puzzle adventure & I #JustBeatIt again on Ouya. It's so dang clever I still haven't discovered everything after two playthroughs, but it's short enough I'm thinking I'll try again. Great one, I'm a fan. 👍

zone-ify is a free video streaming service and I just learned that the app also includes a few simple games, like 4 In A Row. Well obviously I had to #JustBeatIt for you @polykillpodcast.bsky.social

Planet of Lana, a modern cinematic platformer (a Limbo-like), lacks the gameplay dynamism of that game. Its puzzles tend to be similar with apparent solutions. Yet its poignant & less impressionistic story elevates everything greatly. Great game, glad to have #JustBeatIt @polykillpodcast.bsky.social

I have this 10 year old Shikaku app on a 10+ year old tablet but only now took the 10 minutes needed to finish the included free content & #JustBeatIt. It's a decently fun logic game, but the included puzzles showed little depth. I may try newer renditions to be sure. @polykillpodcast.bsky.social
